Rainbow House Verona

Welcome and LGBTQIA+ support

In Verona, as in many other cities, LGBTQIA+ individuals face daily challenges. Rainbow House Verona (RHV) was created to provide a concrete response to these challenges: a safe place for welcoming, listening, and support. RHV aims to be a point of reference for anyone who has experienced discrimination, violence, and abuse, and for all people who believe in a more just, free, and inclusive city.

United to overcome difficulties

Rainbow House Verona (RHV) was created to offer a concrete response to these needs, in a territory that, despite historical difficulties, is rich in associations and solidarity.

Our goal is to strengthen existing reception services, creating a single support network among the associations Pianeta Milk - Verona LGBT Center*, Circolo Pink LGBTE, and Comunità dei Giovani.

For migrants or asylum seekers, these challenges are amplified. LGBTQIA+ discrimination intersects with the condition of being a migrant and/or asylum seeker, and in these cases, difficulties in finding a home or job, and micro- and macro-aggressions are greater.

For this reason, RHV adopts an intersectional and intercultural approach to prevent multiple discriminations, not to forget the complexity of experiences and the layered identities of individuals.

We want to build a more inclusive city

Our strength lies in the people who are committed every day to fight against all forms of discrimination.

Our network has already helped many people. For example, in 2024:

93

people helped by Pianeta Milk through the Telefono Amico (Friendship Line) and 18 who received psychological support

57

people supported by Circolo Pink through the Pink Refugees project

16

LGBTQIA+ people supported by Comunità dei Giovani

These figures are not just numbers: they are stories of courage and resilience, and demonstrate how our commitment can make a difference.
